Santa: The sequel

Have a great Holiday! This Guy has his hands full…

Giants in Berlin! Earth Shakes. Not very much.

I went, in hope of experiencing a real life Godzilla moment. Giants, towering 7 metres above the ground! A diver, 15 metres tall, marching throug the Brandenburg Gate! What I got was impressive, but squeaky. The pictures of a day misspent at the Brandenburg Gate, as I realised that this kind of thing might work better on TV than Unter Den Linden. Even though, with a bit more action and a bit less waiting, I can see how this might be a very enjoyable experience…     Here's a link to the project. UPDATE: And here's a link to Boston.com, and a picture gallery.

¡200!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am also happy to announce that the last was the two hundredth post on Carambolage. Thank you for reading! You may also have noticed that I've introduced day tags recently. This is in case someone feels like adding an element of randomness to their browsing experience. To celebrate, I will, for the first time in a long time, upload a picture of me at Achtung! I am to be found amongst the stylish, the smiling and the famous, in my customary pose for this kind of picture: surprised, bemused and wierded out by the fact that anyone might wanna catch me on film!

Christmas Merry!

YAAAAY! 'Tis Christmas!

¡Carambolage Rocks! (Apparently)

Gather the barber shop quartet! Roll the Drums! Fire the Works! Open the ball! Vote Hillary! Raise the topmast! Scour the Plank! Split the Atom! Shiver me timbers! That brought on quite a bit of nonsensical jubilation, finding that iCeah of Wow Legs has nominated Carambolage as a Kick-Ass Blog. In fact I jubilated all through yesterday, pausing only to reflect on Microsofts new Ad, Shelves I'd like to have, Fembots and Virgin advertising. I jubilated through work and through a small spot of partying.I am still jubilant as I write this! And now, my speech: "We've come a long way, yahdiyahdiyah, achievement, blahblah, the people who made this possible, yakyakyak, our sponsors, moohdemoohdemooh, honoured to accept, beehdibeehdibeeh, Mom, God and the stinky state of Berlin. Thangyouthangyouverymuch." So thank you for the Award, iCeah, if you didn't have one already, I'd nominate you right back, Meanwhile, my link-list needs some updating. Also meanwhile, here...

Valentines day.

it makes you think.. over the centuries, the martyrdom of a couple of early christian saints has been turned into a festival of worldwide love when roses and chocolates are given, kisses exchanged and silly schoolboys give their crushes hand drawn cards spelling out will you be my valentine. Romance at it's best: taking something horrible and turning it, with time, into something, if not good, then at least an expression of affection. Consumerism turns this into one of those musto- be celebrated days, like christmas, where you have to buy the beloved, the object of your desires, favourite courtesan or whatever does it for you, some trinket, some gift to prove to them that you haven't forgotten about that one special person that advertising tells you deserves it. Comes in handy in that spending slump between christmas and easter, too. At least that way, people spend their cash on useful things like flowers (pretties up the house( perfumes (olfactory delights for all!), ipods (ke...
